Too Late for Biggie Fries -12Stone

My sister had been asking me for a few months to visit 12stone church. I can’t really say I caved in, however I decided to see what 12 Stone and Pastor Kevin (Senior Pastor) had to share that faithfull Sunday morning. “Daniel -Living larger than Life” has been the ongoing series September 28 -November 16, 2008. I was not sure what to expect at all. There was a few hundred people, a big stage, stadium seating, Giant HD Screens, a back drop of shipping pallets, and then the band walked out. Wow is the only word I can use to describe that first morning service. I am a native of Kentwood, Michigan and grew up in the Catholic Church, and certainly not used to putting excitement and the word of the lord together. I had a great time. over the years I moved away from the Church, not spending the time to worship, but always finding the time everyday for silence thanks and prayer.

Pastor Kevin started out with “Obsession” and how we could never be wrong when we obsess over god first. He spoke of Daniel’s quest to serve the lord, and it was very simple to understand, not all food is “Good Food” for the soul. When our obsessions are misplaced, our thoughts become misplaced, and sometimes confuse the answer all together. He discussed this idea with a 12stone Production It’s too late for Biggie Fries. What does it say? When we are obsessed over anything else other than the Word of the Lord, we get pulled across the full spectrum of life. Back and forth, up and down, every which way that craziness tells you. And we know craziness has no other design than being just what it is. We don’t eat to stay slim, to look like Hollywood, we eat because our body says hey, I am hungry! Binge, purge, back and forth, and so on….

We had a great time at 12Stone Church. And finding out what “Living Large” really means!
